Project investigator, Professor Seamus Simpson, gave a talk on the role of spectrum governance in European media policy as part of the launch for the Centre for Cultural and Media Policy Studies at University of Warwick on October 18th. 

The project team is holding its second workshop in London on November 15th 2017 at Portcullis House, Westminster. 

The workshop will be convened by the research team and external steering group members

It will focus on current issues in SDO decision making for the internet. 

The project team attended the ECPR General Conference on 6-9 September 2017 in Oslo. 

The project team attended the EuroDIG conference in Tallinn on the 6th and 7th June. Professor Alison Harcourt took part in a panel on Human Rights and IoT

The project team presented a panel at the 2016 Challenging Media Landscapes Conference: Access, Participation and the Mediatised World held by the University of Salford. The conference took place between 14-15 of November at MediaCityUK, Salford, Manchester.

The conference covered participatory digital cultures and the web, as well as issues such as accessibility, social media and journalism.

The Gikii 2016 Conference took place in London on 30 September. The event was held at the Notre Dame Law Center London, 1 Suffolk St, London SW1Y 4HG.

Our project's Principal Investigator Prof Alison Harcourt presented on the title 'Memes about Emes: the digital rights movement goes to the W3C'.

In the light of the data protection regulation and the European digital agenda, DG CONNECT, ENISA and, Goethe University Frankfurt have organised the Annual Privacy Forum 2016.

On 18-19 April 2016, Professor Claudius Wagemann provided the project team with an intensive two day training course about QCA, to assist with the methodological approach to case selection.

The project team held its first project workshop in Brussels on the 25 of April, 2017. The workshop was convened by the research team and external steering group members.

The workshop was held at the University of Warwick's Brussels office.

The project members held a panel at the Political Studies Association (PSA) Annual Conference on 21-23 March 2016 in Brighton, UK. The panel examined civil society activism in internet governance with case studies on internet standards, privacy and data protection, and spectrum. The aim of the panel was to exam civil society organizations’ (CSO) roles as activists in light of increasing stakeholder governance at the transnational level.
